Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor is interested in re-signing Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme.
Nwakaeme, became a target for the former Turkish Super Lig Champions following his good relationship with current boss, Abdullah Avcı.
The forward enjoyed his four-year stay at the club, playing a pivotal role in the league title and cup triumph.
He featured 36 times for as they ended a 38-year wait for the league title in 2022, scoring 15 goals with 11 assists.
Nwakaeme failed to agree new deal with club before leaving to join Saudi Arabian team Al Fayha in August 2022.
“I am someone who has been in contact with Tony after I left here, in the summer and after I came here,” the Trabzonspor boss said.
“Tony is a very respected person here. Regardless of who it is, Tony or anyone else, if something will happen in the interests of Trabzonspor, we can evaluate it. Tony is someone we are in contact with,” Abdullah Avcı was quoted by Milliyet.
Nwakaeme, who joined Trabzonspor on free transfer in 2018 after his exit from Hapoel Beer Sheva played 145 games in all competitions and registering impressive 47 goals and 40 assists.
