Trabzonspor rekindles interest in Onuachu

Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor have renewed their interest in Southampton’s Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu.

The Turkish side had initially pulled out of negotiations after Southampton rejected multiple offers for the Nigerian.

Onuachu, who spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor, made a significant impact during his time at the club, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists in all competitions.

This followed a challenging six-month spell at Southampton.

Trabzonspor are interested in securing a permanent transfer for the former KRC Genk man but have struggled to meet Southampton’s valuation.

Southampton are reportedly demanding €15m for the striker, while Trabzonspor’s previous offers have not exceeded £7m.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Trabzonspor has submitted a new proposal that includes a player-plus-cash deal for Onuachu.

The striker has been training well at Southampton and could feature in their Premier League game this weekend.
