The 47 -year -old merchant, identified as Comfort Abednego, died after collapsed in the market of the village of Kwaita in the Council of the Kwali area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Witnesses revealed that the merchant collapsed while he attended customers who came to buy Garri (cassava flour) on the market at 11:23 on Wednesday 10 September 2025.
The witnesses revealed that Abednego had risen to buy a bag in Polytene to measure Garri when suddenly collapsed.
The vigilants of the market were immediately notified and brought to a nearby clinic, but the mother of three children was confirmed dead on arrival.

One of the market traders, who helped identify his family, contacted relatives who later evacuated the body.
A member of the market vigilant group, simply identified as Dogara, confirmed the accident, saying that the deceased had traveled from the Pache Village to sell Garri on the day of the market.
Dogara said to Daily Trust: “We saw the people gathered where it sells and discovered that she had collapsed and dead.
“Her relatives who came to the body told us that it was Hale and abundant when she left the house this morning.”
A police source in the Kwali division also confirmed the accident.
