The Liberian public, including family members, are yet to unravel the cause of the death of a youthful politician here, who was discovered dead in his bedroom.

Monrovia, February 5, 2025 – Four days after he reportedly went missing, opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) youth league member Jesse Gleegbar, Jr. is discovered dead in his bedroom.
Family sources indicate the late Gleegbar, Jr. was last seen on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, when he had only returned from a trip to neighboring Sierra Leone.
Edward Kamara, a tender in the house where the late Gleegbar, Jr. rented, recounts that the deceased was absent for four days after discussing the bathroom renovation in his room.
Other witnesses say news of his death broke after his family noticed his absence in the yard, and after few days, a smell of rotten meat began to come from inside the house, which led to them to break the door to his room, where the 32-year-old stanch supporter of the ANC was discovered dead.
However, the Liberia National Police (LNP) immediately arrived on the scene and carried out a cross-examination of his body before turning it over to his family for burial.
Desmond Nimely, a member of the ANC, expresses sorrow over the death of their colleague, who he describes as passionate person.
He indicates the ANC will ensure a proper investigation is done to establish the cause of death of the late Gleegbar, Jr.
The sad incident occurred Monday morning in Gbangay Town Community, Airfield Shortcut, and Monrovia.
What might have led to his death is yet to be established, but community dwellers describe the deceased as a vocal young man, suspecting that he may have died of psychological trauma. Editing by Jonathan Browne
