Trump hints that some Americans might prefer dictators during the commentary on the oval office

US President Donald Trump caused a controversy on Monday with a statement showing that some Americans might be open to authoritarian government, when he signed a series of executive orders aimed at tightening control over public security and punishing differences of opinion, including burning flags.

In the appearance of an 80 -minute oval office filled with complaints, offering, and a blunt policy declaration, Trump attacked his critics, accusing them to damage their efforts to restore order in the country’s capital and so on.

“They say ‘we don’t need it. Freedom, freedom. He is a dictator. He is a dictator.’ Many people say: ‘Maybe we like dictators,’ “Trump told reporters during the event.

While it seems to embrace the label for a moment, he quickly retreated.

“I don’t like dictators. I am not a dictator. I am a man with common sense and a smart person,” he added.

Trump, who lost the 2020 election for Joe Biden but refused to admit and try to cancel the results, previously vowed to act as “dictator on the first day” if re -elected. Since winning back to the White House, he has doubled the promises of hard action and carried out legal actions.

Recently, Trump mobilized the national guards to Washington, DC, citing increased crime, and controversially placed the city police department under federal supervision. He hinted the same intervention in other Democrats led cities.

He confirmed that he was considering sending troops to Chicago and Baltimore, and noted that the national bodyguard had been deployed to Los Angeles in June – a step taken in conflict with local and state leaders.

The President is aiming at Governor Illinois JB Pritzker, a critic who often opposes federal intervention in Chicago.

“When I saw what happened in our cities, and then you sent them, and instead of being praised, they said, ‘You try to take over the Republic,'” Trump said.

“These people are sick.”

As part of his increased security agenda, Trump on Monday signed an executive order that mandated the prosecution for burning flags-despite the decision of the 1989 US Supreme Court that the law was protected based on the first amendment.

“If you burn the flag, you get one year in prison – there is no initial exit, there is nothing,” he said.

Trump also directed the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to create a special public order unit in the Washington National Guard, and announced the end of the guarantee policy without cash in the capital.

He added that he was considering changing the image of the Department of Defense.

“The second world war, it is called the Department of War,” Trump said. “Among us, I think we will change his name.”

Democratic parliament members have warned that the greater consolidation of Trump’s authority is a threat to constitutional norms. Critics said the use of federal troops, extensive executive actions, and attacks on political opponents encouraged the boundaries of the president’s power.

Nevertheless, Trump refused concerns and criticism in his freewheling remarks. At one point, he denied being racist by stating: “I love black people.”

However, a few moments later, he described a Salvador immigrant – which he claimed was being deported to Uganda – as “animals,” in the context of immigration disputes.

Trump also intersects with invasive fish in Great Lakes, pointing to what he claims is the lack of gratitude from Governor Pritzker for federal efforts.

“We have very fish, quite cruel that comes from China. China Carp, Chinese goldfish. You see them jumping out – they jump to the boat and they jump to all places,” he said.

The president did not stop there. He threw an insult to a former resident of Joe Biden, called him “stupid,” and minimizes the Russian President’s Ukraine invasion Vladimir Putin to Ukraine, connecting it with “Big Personality Conflict.”

The announcement of Trump’s rhetoric and policy continues to increase concerns among critics who argue that his vision for America is tempting with authoritarianism – the label that he refused but repeatedly called.
