Donald Trump’s administration is accusing the New York Public Prosecutor Letitia James of Mortgage Fraud and has made a criminal postponement to the Department of Justice in search of federal judicial proceedings.
Federal Housing Finance Agency officials (FHFA) claim that James falsified the bank’s and property registers to receive better loan agreements, said an administration official to the BBC.
James won a civil case against Trump in 2023 who accused him of having overrated his properties to eliminate loans on favorable conditions. It is currently appeal against the sentence.

In a post on Truth Social on Monday, Trump called James an “extravagant scammer”.
“Lettia James, a totally corrupt politician, should resign from his position as a general prosecutor of the state of New York, immediately,” he wrote.
