Trump said the Murdoch family could join the Tiktok agreement

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has suggested that Lachlan Murdoch and his father, Mogul Media Rupert Murdoch, can take part in high -risk investment agreements around the Tiktok operation in the country.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, Trump said Murdoch had expressed his interest in joining the Investor Consortium who negotiated with Hytedance, the Tiktok parent company in China, although no formal agreement was announced.

He told Fox News that Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan “might” would be involved.

“A man named Lachlan was involved,” Trump said

. “Lachlan Murdoch … Rupert [Murdoch] Maybe it will be in the group, I think they will be in the group. “

The statement came only a few days after Trump and Bytedance both of them fled the progress in the potential agreement that would make the operational tiktok in the United States. However, official details remain rare, and Biden administration has not confirmed any approval.

Possible involvement of Murdochs – who family controls News Corp and Fox Corp – will inject significant financial and political weight into negotiations.

Analysts say their participation can re -shape the balance of influence around the social media giant, which has more than 170 million US users.
