Trump slams 100% rates on drugs, kitchen furniture

President Trump signs the law on the extension and improvement of the program of choice of veterans to the White House in April. When legislation sign, the presidents can issue a “signature declaration” to share their legal interpretation of the new law. Trump did it with the Russia penalties.

The President of the United States Donald Trump has rekindled his global commercial war with new large rates aimed at pharmaceutical products, trucks, house renewal materials and furniture.

In an announcement at the end of Thursday on his social platform of truth, Trump said that starting from 1 October, his administration will impose a 100% rate on pharmaceutical products with a brand and patented “unless a company is building their pharmaceutical production plant in America”.

The move is one of Trump’s hardest commercial measures since his April decision to impose mutual rates for almost all US commercial partners. It is not clear whether the new rates will accumulate on top of existing national withdrawals.

The European Commission quickly replied, insisting on the fact that a preliminary commercial agreement between the EU and the pharmaceutical rates has limited the United States to 15%, defining the agreement “an insurance policy that will not emerge higher rates”.

The groups of European pharmaceutical industry have warned that these measures could damage patients in both regions and have requested urgent interviews.

In a separate place, Trump also announced a 25% rate on all imported heavy trucks, citing national security problems. The actions of the European Truck Manufacturers Volvo and Daimler abruptly decreased in the negotiations of After Hour after the announcement.

The president also imposed a 50% rate on kitchen furniture, bathroom vanity and related products and a 30% rate on padded furniture – a move that should affect imports from Asia, which represent most of the US market supply.

The actions of the US furniture retailers Wayfair and Williams Sonoma have dropped the news, according to Reuters.

The new rates are likely to raise concerns about inflation in the United States economy while Trump continues to push protectionist measures aimed at resuming production and reducing dependence on imports.

His administration has already imposed a basal rate of 10% on all countries, with higher rates in Canada, Mexico, China and others for safety and commercial imbalances.
