Tukur Mamu, Ekpa on Nigeria’s sanctions list for terrorism financing

The Federal Government has placed alleged bandit negotiator, Tukur Mamu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra faction, Simon Ekoa and 46 others on the sanctions list for alleged financing of terrorism and other crimes.

In the latest list posted on the sanctions committee’s website on Saturday, the federal government also listed two senior Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders, Abdulsamat Ohida and Abdulrahaman Abdulrahaman.

Both men are from Okene, Kogi State.

Ohida has been linked to the June 5, 2022 attack on St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Francis in Owo, Ondo State, and the July 5, 2022 attack on the Kuje Correctional Center in Abuja.

Member of Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladissudam (ANSARU), a group linked to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Muhammad Sani, was also listed.

The government alleges that Sani trained under Muktar Belmokhtar, also known as “One-Eyed,” and specialized in designing secret communications codes and improvised explosive devices.

Others listed are – Abubakar Muhammad, Allamudeen Hassan, Adamu Ishak, Hassana Isah, Abdulkareem Musa, Umar Abdullahi, Abdurrahman Ado, Bashir Yusuf, Ibrahim Alhassan, Muhammad Isah, Salihu Adamu and Surajo Mohammad.

The rest are – Fannami Bukar, Muhammad Musa, Sahabi Ismail, Mohammed Buba, Adamu Hassan, Hassan Mohammed, Usman Abubakar, Kubara Salawu, Rabiu Suleiman, Simon Njoku, Godstime Iyare, Francis Mmaduabuchi, John Onwumere, Chukwuka Eze, Edwin Chukwuedo, Chiwendu Owoh, Ginika Orji, Awo Uchechukwu, Mercy Ali, Ohagwu Juliana, Eze Okpoto, Nwaobi Chimezie and Ogumu Kewe.

The entities mentioned in the list are Jama’atu Wal-Jihad, Ansarul Sudan (ANSARU), ISWAP, IPOB, Yan Group and Yan Group NLBDG.
