Two members of the Ondo State House of Assembly on Thursday dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The MPs are Mr Raymond Daudu, who represents Akoko South West Constituency I, and Mr Olajide Oguntodu, Akure South Constituency I.
The defection letter was read by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Olamide Oladiji, at a plenary session in Akure.
With this development, the APC now has full control of the 26-seat Assembly.
Speaking to journalists after the plenary session, Daudu said he dumped the PDP because of the party’s divisions at the national and state levels.

He added that President Bola Tinubu’s New Hope Agenda must be supported for the transformation of the country.
According to him, the President’s current agenda is to provide recognition to the state on behalf of the national community.
Likewise, Oguntodu said the ongoing crisis in the PDP will not help his political journey, therefore he needs to join a stronger political party.
