Two years is not enough to judge Tinubu – Presidency

Bayo onanuga special advisors about the media and information strategy to the President of Bola Tinubu, have told Nigeria to reduce their hopes for the current government because two years are not enough to judge the government.

Onanuga, who gave a warning during interaction with journalists in Lagos on Sunday, said that although things look gloomy at this time, Nigerians will soon experience a positive effect of economic reform and government policies in all state segments.

Onanuga emphasized that two years that Tinubu had been in power was an insufficient benchmark to fully measure administrative achievements, noted that policy experts usually assess the policy impact of 10 years to 12 years.

“The years the presidential years in the office began with clear direction and implementation of policy,” Onanuga said.

He highlighted that Tinubu not only introduced progressive reforms but also handled the challenges avoided by previous administrations.

“Many reforms have occurred in all sectors. The President has laid many fundamentals that will ensure growth,” he said.

The presidential spokesman further notes that while the positives of the president’s actions over the past two years gradually dripping down, significant paradigm changes have occurred in the economy, handling many previous problems, giving specific examples with the situation in the country before eliminating fuel subsidies by the Tinubu administration.

“There is no fuel. Many stations say there is no fuel, no fuel. What happened at that time was that NNPC had reached the bottom point.

“There is no money to import fuel, they claim that it is a debt supplier of around six billion dollars and the government owes around four trillion dollars. So, it cannot import anymore.

“Nigeria has abundant resources that we appreciate, but not as much as possible the money available as people think.

“This economy has opened up opportunities in various forms for Nigerians. Those who are truly able to exploit it. And they make money.

“We did not do good to our people when we continued to push the gloomy and disaster stories without letting them see the truth, without letting them see the context, and without letting them know that there was actually light at the end of the tunnel.”
