The sensation of singing South Africa Tyla Laura Seethal, aka Tyla, stole the spotlight in 2025 MTV Video Music Awards by winning the best Afrobeats award for Hit Smash “Push 2 Start.”
The singer reached a milestone with his popular single after he defeated Nigeria’s heavyweight nominations including Asake, Burna Boy, Rema, Tems, and Wizkid to win the award.
Weekend awards are the success of both in the Afrobeats category and reaffirms the influence of sustainable genres on global music trends.
