U-20 World Cup: Oliseh Confident Flying Eagles will advance from the group

After the FIFA U-20 World Cup raffle, which placed Nigeria in Group F along with Norway, Saudi Arabia and Colombia, midfielder Divine Oliseh has expressed his confidence in the possibilities of the team to progress to the elimination stage.

In a conversation with Brila.net, Oliseh recognized the high level of expected competition in the World Cup, but remains optimistic about Nigeria’s ability to advance.

“We are very positive, we are very sure that we can leave the group. We are very sure of that.”

“And one thing is safe, we must all remember that no country is a small country.”

In addition, he declared that the World Cup is a much more demanding tournament than the Sub-20 Africa Cup (AFCON), noting that each team will present its best players.

“This is the World Cup and everyone comes with the best of the best. So we are also preparing for the World Cup.”

Oliseh, who was part of the team that helped Nigeria describe for the global tournament, believes that with the right preparation and mentality, the team led by Aliyu Zubairu can work well in Chile.

“And we are sure that we are going to do it, because we need to qualify the group.”

“So it’s that we prepare very well and try to fight. And God helps us throughout the tournament.”

The FIFA World Cup U-20 2025 is scheduled to start in Chile in November, with Nigeria with the aim of improving its quarterfinal end in the last edition.
