UCL: Arsenal, Atalanta play to goalless draw as 10-man Barcelona lose to Monaco

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman was in action for Atalanta in their goalless draw against Arsenal in the Champions League on Thursday night.

Lookman failed to convert any chances for the Serie A side at home, and was on the pitch for 89 minutes before he was substituted.

David Raya made a superb double save from penalties as he tipped Mateo Retegui’s spot-kick over the line and then again tipped the striker’s header off the line.

Elsewhere, Lamine Yamal scored in the 28th minute but it was not enough as 10-man Barcelona suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Monaco.

Barcelona played 80 minutes with 10 men when Eric García was sent off in the 10th minute before Maghnes Akliouche opened the scoring in the 17th minute.

Yamal equalised but it was Nigerian striker George Ilenikhena’s 71st-minute effort that gave the hosts victory.

In other Champions League matches, Atletico Madrid beat RB Leipzig 2-1, Brest beat Sturm 2-1, Benfica secured a 2-1 away win while Bayer Leverkusen beat Feyenoord 4-0.
