After the newly launched British immigration paper, the British High Commission in Nigeria has moved to convince the Nigerians that the old and valuable relations between the two countries remain firm, even though there are changes to come to the British migration policy.
In a statement released on Monday, a spokesman for the British High Commission emphasized the importance of the relationship between Britain and Nigeria, noting the eternal appeal of Britain as a goal for the Nigerians.
“Britain enjoyed the relationship between people who had been standing for a long time with Nigeria. We are proud that England is still considered the main goal for Nigerians to work, learn, visit and resolve the contributions brought to England,” the statement said.
The white book, described as a framework for restoring control, justice, and sustainability to the British migration system, proposes significant reforms aimed at reducing clean migration while supporting economic growth. However, the high commission quickly clarifies that the launch will be gradual and will involve consultation with the Nigerian authority.

Changes in the system will occur during a certain period of time and we will be involved with relevant partners in the Federal Nigerian government once again information about the details of implementation available,” the spokesman added.
While this paper signifies a firm attitude about immigration control, Britain reiterates its commitment to become a friendly and global involved country, highlighting the positive impact of international diversity and exchange.
“We have a proud tradition as a country that looks foreign, investing and trading abroad, and welcoming their creativity, ideas and diversity that comes to contribute here,” the statement concluded.
The guarantee came because many Nigerians expressed concern over the tightening of visa policy, especially regarding the work sector that was skilled and related to maintenance.
