The native Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the British government and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) silenced in the hard work of its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, as the betrayal of justice.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Director of the Media and Publicity, Camelarad Emma Powerful, the group expressed disappointment that Britain where Kanu was a citizen, had closed his eyes to what he called an open violation of the rule of law in Nigeria.
The Biafra agitators also reviled the NBA because they refused to speak against what was described as the judicial harassment in the Kanu trial since its arrest in Kenya in 2021.
The group also accused that Nigerian justice of using illegal procedures and laws of death to maintain the arrest of the Kanu but the NBA had failed to react to defend the profession of this violation.
In that statement read:
‘The native of Biafra (IPOB) is very disappointed and angry by the continuous silence of the British and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for the misuse of open laws in the ongoing persecution of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, British citizens and freedom fighters.
“For a long four years, judges and judges Nigeria have interrupted the law without recognition. They have ignored the constitution, are not respected by human rights, and abandon the principles that make the judicial worthy of being respected.
“What’s more painful is the silence of those who should know better – the British government that gives the world of general law, and NBA who should maintain the rule of law in Nigeria.
“British silence is embarrassing
“The British government has witnessed calmly as its own citizens being treated unfairly by a system that no longer hides its bias. How can the British be, the birthplace of the rule of law, does not say anything while Nigeria is stepping on everything that is fought for by general law?

“The appeal court over Mazi Kanu was mistakenly canceled through the backdoor civil procedure that no honest lawyer would call legitimate.
“Fake DSS witnesses are allowed to testify – people who admit that they have never even met him. And even after a Chief Justice acknowledged that Judge Binta Nyako Bias, the same judge was returned to his case.
“If this happens to British citizens elsewhere in the world, the British government will speak hard. But because the victim is Biafran, there is silence that smells of involvement.
“Where is the Nigerian bar association?
“The NBA was created to defend the rule of law. Today, he behaves like an association who is afraid of his own shadow. Where is the senior lawyer who used to speak the truth to power? Where are the fearful voices that have been standing against military dictators?
“Instead of defending justice, the NBA is now looking away while the court uses a dead law to try citizens and while the judges pretended not to see the bias, forgery, and political pressure in their own ranks.
“Cowardice destroys public trust in the judiciary. Judges are intended to be a lion, not a mouse. The bench was once filled with brave men and women who preferred to resign to compromise – Today, too much prefer silence than courage.
“Our message to England and NBA
“You cannot claim to uphold justice abroad while distracting your attention from injustice at home or among your citizens.
England and NBA must explain their silence. They had to defend Mazi Nnamdi Kanu – not because he was biafran, but because justice itself was tried.
“The persecution of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not just a legal case – it is a mirror that reflects the decay of Nigerian justice and their moral failure that must defend justice.
“The world is watching.
And history will not forget who stands silence when the law is buried in broad daylight. “
