UN saved Nigeria on N1TRN through scientific initiatives – Speaker Abbas

The President of the Chamber of Representatives, Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, said that the former minister of science, technology and innovation, the end of Ogbonnaya UN, through scientific initiatives, saved Nigeria over N1trilion.

Dr. Abbas declared this while delivering the first commemorative lesson in honor of the deceased minister and former governor of the old state Abia in Abuja, Friday.

He added that the initiative also contributed to dealing with the issue of unemployment through the creation of over 900,000 jobs in the country.

Abbas, who was represented by his deputy, Benjamin Kalu, said that the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, the contributions of Dr. UN are well documented.

β€œThis appointment has allowed him to promote science, technology and innovation at the highest level of politics, leading to numerous significant results.

β€œFor example, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that she had been decisive for the creation of over 900,000 jobs and saved the country beyond n1 trillion through the reduction of the imports of raw materials.

He stated that the national strategy policy for competitiveness in raw materials that started significantly improved Nigeria ranking according to the 2018-2019 evaluation of the World Economic Forum.

“He also introduced the annual scientific and technological Expo that brings together researchers, innovators, scientists and entrepreneurs to commit each other. The goal is to stimulate the effective mobilization and the deployment of the research results for scientific production and marketing,” observed Abbas.
