“Seven Doors”, a historical dramatic series by Femi Adebayo, triumphed at the 11th Africa Magic Species’ Choice Awards (Amvca), winning three main prizes, consolidating its prominent status in Nollywood.
Femi Adebayo won the best main actor for his interpretation of Adendunjoye, the king of the series.
Chukwuka Chioma has also obtained the prize for the main actress for her role of Amaka, the wife of Adendunjoye.
The series also won the best music/score.
Likewise, Lisabi: The Uprising, directed by Tunde Aina and played by Lateef Adendimeji has conquered multiple prizes in the key categories: Best makeup: Hakeem Onogbo (Hakeem effect), best artistic direction and best film in indigenous language (West Africa).
The eleventh Amvca took place on Saturday at the Eko Hotels, Lagos.
This prestigious event celebrates excellence in African cinema and television, bringing together the brightest stars on the continent and professionals in the sector.
The award ceremony also celebrated the healthy veterans Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh with the prizes of life.
Director Kayode Kasum brought home the Trailblazer Award for his new impact on the genre on the sector.
Speaking at the event, Busola Tejumola, executive manager of content and channels, western Africa, in Multichice, underlined the long -term commitment of the Amvca for the Nollywood industry.
Tejumola observed that the event was a sustainable project that has evolved over the years to promote the growth of the sector.
“We commit to developing skills, evolving industry, producing and distributing the best local content available on the continent.
“The Amvca continues to evolve every single year and this edition is special as it highlights the youngest artists who will bring the industry forward in the next 10 years,” said Tejumola.
According to Tijumola, the key to involving spectators is to create content that are comparable and resonate with them.
“Amvca also had a significant impact on the careers of young artists, with over nine billion naira invested in the prizes in the last 11 years.
“In addition, the Multichice talent factory provides young filmmakers with a one -year development program to refine their skills,” he said.
Other winners are: Best Supporting Actor: Gabriel Afolayan (within life).

– Best documentary: Dundun (Ifeoluwa Fatogun and Ebi Atawodi).
– Best short film: Jide Jblaze Oyegble.
– Best cinematography: Leo Purman, for “The legend of the Queen of the Lagos Vagabondo”.
– Best assembly: Tongai Furusa, for “Inkabi”.
– Best sound design: Michael Botha, Olaosebikan Okonrende and Dil Chike Ajufo, for “suspicion”.
– Best Art Direction: Soliu Badu Noutical & Ayanmo Yakub, for “Lisabi: The Uprising”.
– Best makeup: Hakeem Onogbo, for “Lisabi: The Uprising”.
– Best custom design: Adendamola Adeyemi, for “Christmas in Lagos”.
– Best writing in a TV series: Abel Mutua Musyoka.
– Best Writing (Movie): Blessing Uzzi for “Freedom Way”.
– Best indigenous language (West Africa): Adedimeji Lateef and Adbimpe Oyebade Adedimeji.
– Best indigenous language (Oriental Africa): Abel Mutua Musyoka
