Updated: Nine Save from Afrilland Towers Blaze in Lagos

Emergency respondents rescued nine victims from fires in the six -storey building in Afrilland Tower, Broad Street, Lagos Island on Tuesday.

Representative Controller General Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mr. Ogabi Olajide, revealed this in a statement in Lagos.

He said nine victims were rescued in total, of which five of them were successfully respected.

“A total of nine victims have been rescued, with five people successfully respected.

“Some other people escaped Unhurt while efforts are currently ongoing to make the remaining four individuals.

“The incident was reported at exactly 1:38 noon, and the fire crew closest to the scene was immediately deployed there.

“After the call was received, the firefighting crew from the Authe Elefun Fire Station and Sari Iganmu Fire Station responded.

“The fire comes from the inverter room located in the basement room, while smoke has spread on several floors and struck the structure,” said Deputy CG.
