The Chairperson of the Labor Party Guard Committee, Nenadi Usman, has praised the Supreme Court’s decision which fired the National Party Chairperson, Mr. Julius Abure.
The High Court on Friday canceled the decision of the appeal court which recognized Abure as the National Chair of the LP.
Panel five members of the Supreme Court in a unanimous decision decided that the appeal court did not have a jurisdiction to declare Abure as the National Chair of the LP.
Usman, in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, expressed satisfaction with the decision that found his appeal meritorious.
The former Minister of Finance described the decision as a victory for the rule of law and important milestone for Nigerian democracy.
“It is important to emphasize that this is not time for victory – there is no winner and is not defeated.
