Videos of Boko Members of Brutal Fishermen in Borno Appears on Social Media

An annoying video footage that shows members of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad (JAS), Boko Haram’s faction, whipped a fisherman for daring to fish in rivers in the state of Borno without permission from terrorists who have appeared on social media.

The video that touched the heart shared by the security analyst, Zagazola Makama on his X grip on Monday, showed one of the brutal sect members of the fishermen, an action that had withdrawn the criticism of the Nigerians.

In his remarks in the video, Makama regretted that the incident was a reflection of what people in northwestern had experienced in the hands of the rebels in the area they believed to be in their control.

“Tragically, this recording reveals painful truth that has long been known but rarely discussed in public. Fishermen and local traders who wander into these pockets are often trapped between survival and involvement,” Makama wrote.

“Many of these people are driven by poverty and despair, entering terrorists controlled areas for livelihoods, sometimes forced to carry out their duties for rebels.

“In the latest incident, Elements Jas reportedly killed several fishermen in the Karamti Mallam, a hotspot known along the volatile Lake Chad basin.

“The victims are said to have surpassed their remarks or violated some unwritten forms of government forced by terrorists.

“The military is often blamed every time these civilians are attacked, but many of them are consciously involved with terrorists, both for access to fishing zones or for trading.

“The incident will be an example, where farmers will be involved with Boko Haram and pay them to secure agricultural land and when other factions appear, they will blame the farmers for collaborating with enemies and killing them.

“And when that happens, everyone will blame the military. This is a tragic cycle, which is exploited by terrorists with brutality.

“This is not just a military problem. This is a humanitarian crisis coated with security disasters. Until we break the economic grip owned by terrorists over these communities, this murder will not stop.”
