The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam states that the country is proposing a five-year visa exemption for selected foreign citizens that contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the country.

The policy project, presented by the Ministry, would allow people suitable to stay in Vietnam for a maximum of 90 days per entrance, double the current maximum of 45 days, without the need for a visa.
According to the Ministry, the exemption is intended for foreign experts and professionals invited by high leaders of the state or government.
It is also aimed at CEOs, Scientists, University Professors, Researchers, Engineers and Specialists highly qualified in information technology.
The proposed size is part of the wider Strategy of Vietnam to attract the best international talents in strategic sectors, including semiconductors, digital technology, sciences and creative industries.
Authorities consider politics as a way to encourage innovation and accelerate national development by integrating high -level foreign skills in the key areas of the economy.
