The computer-based exam was conducted across Nigeria between January 28 and February 14, 2026, with 10,480 candidates, including persons with special needs, taking the exam at 166 centers nationwide.

Of the total number of candidates, 3,429 candidates, or 32.72%, obtained credits or above in at least five subjects, including English language and mathematics.

Successful candidates included 1,847 males (53.86%) and 1,582 females (46.14%).

WAEC Nigeria National Office Head, Amos Dangut, announced the release of the results in a statement issued by the council’s spokesperson, Moyosola Adesina.

Dangut revealed that 8,418 candidates (80.32%) have had their results fully processed and published, while 2,062 candidates (19.68%) still have some topics being processed due to errors encountered.

He noted that efforts are underway to resolve issues affecting the pending results.

The WAEC official further revealed that the results of 75 candidates (0.72%) were withheld due to alleged cases of examination malpractice, adding that investigations are ongoing and the results will be communicated to the affected candidates after examination by the relevant committee.

Dangut also advised candidates to check their results through the WAEC results portal and proceed to access their digital certificates online.

He explained that candidates who want hard copies of their certificates will need to apply via the WAEC certificate application portal.

He expressed appreciation to government agencies, security personnel, examiners and other stakeholders for their support in ensuring the successful conduct of the examination, while reaffirming the board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examinations.
