“Watching Anthony Rudiga helped me build my career” – Gift Okeke

Best Talent FC centre-back Gift Okeke has attributed his outstanding footballing talent at the ongoing Mega Scouting programme at the University of Ibadan Sports Complex, Awo to the close monitoring of Anthony Rudigar.

The level-headed defender stated this while answering questions from reporters shortly after defeating their counterpart, Jaguar FC, and the defender was mostly regarded as the best shooter for his sharp vision, aerial shot and ball distribution during the games.

The 19-year-old defensive midfielder-turned-centre-back has been described as a reliable utility player who pushes his teammates to the limit.

When Gift was asked who his role model and dream club in Europe is, the energetic and athletic lad revealed that Club Bruge in Belgium is his dream club, while Anthony Rudigar has played a huge role in his career prospects.

“I think signing for Best Talent FC is a step in the right direction for my career and I have learnt a lot from playing here. My dream club for the next few years in Europe is Club Brugge from Belgium and I believe God Almighty will make that come true. The aggression and precision in the air that many people talk about here is a result of me closely following Anthony Rudigar from his days at Chelsea and now at Real Madrid. I watch him play a lot and it is really helping my career.” The soft-spoken prodigy introduced himself enthusiastically.
