12 Nigerian trapped workers who were saved in the Central African Republic (CAR) on Friday told their ordeal to breathe air of freedom in Nigeria, claiming to have been sexually harassed by their Chinese employers while the workers on the mining site.

The 12 blocked Nigerian men whose video became viral about three weeks ago finally arrived in Nigeria and made a visit to appreciation at the Nidcom office, where they were received by the Nigerian President/ CEO in the Diaspora Commission (Nidcom), Hon. ABIKE DABIRI-EREWA and other members of the management staff

The leader of saved workers, Igorigo Freeborn, said that it is important for the world to know that, despite the salaries of 11 months, “we have been abused homosexually by our Chinese employers in the car.

“I’m not ashamed to say it. I want other people to learn from it. We were treated badly there, but thank God for saving our lives to tell the stories today.

“I am one of those people who usually abuse Nigeria and I don’t think anything good can leave the country, but we were all so happy to receive help and rescue from Nigeria.

“I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to thank the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Auto Autorate A Bangui Ambassador, the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (Nidcom), Nema, Immigration Service and other government agencies to have come to our rescue almost immediately,” he said.

Freeborn has declared that he had suffered a lot in the last 20 months who have left Nigeria and begged the government to help them remedy the injustices encountered by their employers.

He recalled how they were left blocked in the forest after work without payment, letting them starve them in hard and non -safe living conditions. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Presidency, Nidcom and the Nigerian mission, they were transferred to Bangui, equipped with medical care and finally reported safely at home.

Welcoming the repatriated to Nigeria, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has assured them that justice will be served as a commission in collaboration with the government agencies concerned would have addressed the question on their behalf.

The head of Nidcom condemned the acts as inhumans and assured that the question would be pursued to ensure that justice had served in line with the diplomacy of the citizens of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

He advised them to be of good behavior and collaborate with the commission in his defense on irregular migration and its consequences.

Nidcom through the Hon. ABike Dabiri-Erewa gave some cash support to all repatriated to allow them to settle while expecting their unpaid salaries.

He also invited the Nigerians and business organizations well willing to help the Nigerians settle in the country.

A cash donation from Becstone and Grays, presented by Mr. Toyin Adenugba on behalf of Dr. Tolu Adremi, secretary of the Foundation Council of the Jaals Foundation, was assigned to all 12 repatriated.

Adenugba explained that support was a demonstration of belief in the potential of displaced people, intended to serve as seed to reconstruct their lives, support their families and create new opportunities at home.

Other saved workers are Rotimi Kupolyi, Ajosi Julius, Odeh Collins, Anifowoshe Yekini, Akubo Oluwaseun and Olayemi Peter Adwale.

Others were Stephen Abel Otkli, Samuel Ojochenemi, Alih Joel Muhammed, Uniekwu Bala and Yusuf Bameyi.
