All of Geno’s slander is always baseless and emotional. Geno made due with an absolutely DOGSHIT OLine. Obviously we want the best QB to play, but it’s also obviously Geno. Our line has improved (not by a ton but it has improved) and I think we will see an even better year from Geno. All that said, I really like the idea of Howell sitting and improving, waiting to take the helm when Geno leaves. He has great arm talent and is relatively athletic. I think he will be good.
It's Geno's job to lose and Howell could be a good replacement if Geno does falter.
All reports are that Geno ran circles around Sam in offseason reps so basically. It's not close this year
Geno smith played better in 2022 because we had better oline play. Last year we lost our starting tackles the first week of the season. Geno was a top 10 qb in the league when he had a clean pocket in 2022. It’s Geno position to lose. Geno had bad decision making under pressure and him trying to extend plays and getting sacks. We will be a lot better just watch
Sam Howell stacked up yards because of his gunslinger mentality. Which also leads to high amounts of turnovers. Geno would put up 4500 yards with the same mentality.

As a die hard Seahawks fan, think it’s awesome that you’re opening up the discussion. I 100% believe geno is going to take us to the post season coming up but if he goes down, Howell is a back up who can sneak us in a close game win.
It's probably because the coach and GM have clearly called Geno the starter and with the new offense they want him to get all the reps. Per reports it is not an open competition this year.
What you might be missing is context. There were so many people calling for drew lock to replace Geno last season because they wanted something different. Geno got hurt and Drew Lock came in and looked limited in his ability, he won a game against an Eagles Defense that was already starting to crumble. What most of us learned from that game is that we needed Geno and Drew Lock wasn’t the answer. Even Drew Lock himself thought he would have an easier time of taking the job away from Daniel Jones than he would trying to take the job from Geno.
I believe Sam Howell can learn a lot about pocket presence and getting the ball out quickly from sitting behind Geno, since Geno has had to learn that from being behind one of the worst O-lines in the league (currently 31st ranked according to PFF). I think Howell could get better by learning from Geno for a year. It just seems like some Geno haters are already wanting to give Howell the Job, and I don’t think that will help Seahawks much this year. Even if Howell wins the starting position in the offseason, you might not realize this isn’t a situation where Geno and Howell are on the same level. Geno has already won the locker room, and is the main leader of that locker room. Howell has to gain the respect of that locker room and that comes with time.
Zero chance Sam Howell starts he threw the most interceptions last year he’s young and definitely coachable but genos going to start and I don’t like Geno
