What has happened?
The Gloria Funicular, a national monument that is very popular among tourists, operates as usual between restaurants in downtown Lisbon and Bairro Alto environment on Wednesday night.

Those injured, including 12 women and seven men aged between 25 and 65 years and a three -year -old child, said the Civil Protection Authority.
Nationality 15 of them have been revealed and included three people from Portugal, two from Germany, one from Spain, one from South Korea, one from Cape Verde, one from Canada, one from Italy, one from France, one from Switzerland, and one from Morocco.

Portuguese Minister of Defense Nuno Melo said: “An accident in Lisbon with Gloria elevator is a tragedy that caused a strong commotion and concern in Portugal and in the world … I reveal all my solidarity and offer sincere condolences to the families of the victims, hoping for a rapid recovery for injury.”
