Wike hosted the Rivers APC delegation ahead of the party’s national convention

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, on Thursday hosted delegates to the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers State, at his residence in Abuja.

Those present at the meeting included newly returned APC Deputy National Chairman (South-South), Victor Giadom, senators, members of the House of Representatives and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Some other APC leaders in Rivers State were also present.

The meeting came just ahead of the party’s national convention scheduled to be held on Friday and Saturday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Wike, although not a registered member of the APC, continued to campaign for the ruling party, even as he threw his support behind the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His actions within the PDP continue to exacerbate the crisis within the main opposition party, weakening its chances in the 2027 general elections.
