The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says that the Bola Tinubu International Conference Center generated N650 million N650 three weeks after the inauguration.
The Center was renewed by the FCT administration led by Wike to N39 billion.
Speaking in a media parley in Abuja on Thursday 3 July 2025, the minister said before the renewal of the Conference Center, the FCT received a turnover of N50 million per year.
He said: “Let me tell you how this country works. The man they gave to the conference center paid n50 million to the FCT every year.
“That place was commissioned on June 10 and the revenues made within three weeks were N650 million. Why? People love good things.
“The president hosted the economic community of the States of West Africa (Ecowas) Heads of state in that international conference center. Go to see the comments of the ambassadors. People are hurrying at that place now.
“In fact, there is no space. While I speak, it was booked until 2027.”
The FCT administration was critical for spent n39 billion n39 billion to renew the conference center.
Wike was also criticized for having appointed the renewed structure after President Bola Tinubu.
