Federal Capital Region Minister (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Sunday launched a spicy attack on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for questioning his character.
Former Vice President in a statement issued last weekend showed in a statement issued last weekend by his aide, Paul Ibe, that he chose the former Governor of the State Delta, Ifeanya Okowa, as his partner in the 2023 presidential election due to lack of Wike character.
However, in a statement issued on Sunday, his aide, Lere Olayinka, former Governor of the State Rivers, argued that no one understood the character of Atiku was better than former President Olusegun Obasanjo, under whom Atiku served as Vice President for eight years.
He stressed that it was too late for the former vice president to obtain the character and integrity that he allegedly did not have.
“A Nigerian who can never be found in the meeting of people and integrity is Atiku, and his boss, Obasanjo, proves this in his book My Watch,” Wike said.
The minister said he initially refused Atiku’s offer to serve as his partner because of concerns about the integrity of Atiku, but then persuaded to reconsider.

However, he said Aktiku finally justified that concern.
“Atiku himself ignored the committee’s decision formed to choose his partner, even though previously promised to comply with their recommendations.
“Now his fake claim – that the Committee ranks IFEYAN OKWA as the first choice – has been revealed, he suddenly sermons about character and integrity, quality he doesn’t have,” he said.
Referring to an assessment that burdens Obasanjo about Atiku in my watch, the former governor reiterates the accusation of former president regarding “the tendency of corruption” Atiku, “” bad assessment, “and” dependence on money to buy a way out of all problems. “
“To this day, Atiku has not discussed what his boss said about him,” he said.
