WTT contender Lagos: Bello defeats Edem and advances to the second round

Bello produced an impressive performance on Thursday, defeating compatriot Offiong Edem 3-2 in a thrilling five-set match held at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The match was very close, with Bello winning with scores of 11-6, 11-13, 9-11, 11-9 and 11-5.

The silver medalist of the African game said she was delighted with her performance.

“It’s good to be in Lagos. This is just the beginning, but it’s good for me. I am willing to do more and give my best.

“Defeating Edem is good for me. She is one of my older players and I think that would put me in better shape to do better in the next game,” Bello concluded excitedly.
