Yamal, Lewandowski help Barcelona beat Bilbao

Lamine Yamal scored his first La Liga goal of the season as Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao at the Olympic Stadium.

The 17-year-old scored in the 24th minute with a shot that deflected off defender Inigo Lekue.

Athletic Bilbao equalised before the break through Oihan Sancet who converted a penalty after Pau Cubarsi had fouled Alex Berenguer.

Robert Lewandowski sealed Barcelona’s win with 15 minutes remaining, tapping in the rebound from Pedri’s cross after he had hit the post twice earlier in the game.

This win keeps Barcelona’s perfect start to the season intact.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will be hoping to pick up their first win of the season when they host Real Valladolid at the Bernabeu on Sunday, having been held to a 1-1 draw in their opening game last week.
