The Bauchi state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed that his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration is the cause of the hardships being experienced by the people of the state.
The APC therefore appealed to the governors to desist from harshly criticizing the APC-led Federal Government over the situation in the country, but instead, concentrate on delivering good and effective governance to the people.
The party also alleged that the PDP government led by Governor Mohammed was the most corrupt in the history of the state.
The APC, which is in opposition in the state, has therefore expressed confidence that it will win majority of seats in the upcoming local government council elections.
The allegation was made by Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Umar Buba on Saturday, as the party kicked off its statewide election campaign after naming its candidates for the elections in the 20 LGAs in the state.
Shehu Umar Buba said, “In a free and fair election environment, nothing can stop the APC from winning the local government elections in Bauchi state.”
He said, “The reason is because of the bad policies of the PDP government in Bauchi State. The people of Bauchi State are impoverished, you can see that the PDP government in Bauchi is very corrupt and the corruption is very obvious because everyone is involved.”
According to him, “You can see that under the PDP government in Bauchi State, nothing is going well. It is open to everyone and it is clear to everyone, so, therefore, the people of Bauchi State are very aware, very optimistic, we will win this election.”

On the allegations of APC’s bad policies at the Federal level, he said, “This is very misleading, totally untrue, fictitious, false and untrue. The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Asiwaju, is doing everything possible to make Nigeria better.”
He stressed that, “I can tell you that the government has done a lot, the Bauchi State Government does not even acknowledge or appreciate all the interventions given by the Federal Government.”
“For example, I will give you an example of a recent intervention, 20 trucks of rice were given to Bauchi state to be distributed to the people of the state, where is the rice? he asked.
According to him, “3 months ago, about 70 trucks of Guinea corn were given to Bauchi state from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for distribution to the people. Recently, 70 trucks of various fertilizers were given free of charge for distribution to farmers but they ended up selling it at N50,000 per bag.”
The senator added, “The predicament in Bauchi State is caused by the PDP government led by Governor Bala Mohammed. This is a one-man government. I repeat, this is a very corrupt government. Look at the Ministries. Nothing is being done.”
Earlier, the interim Chairman of the APC, Honourable Mohammed Hassan Tilde said that the APC is fully aware of the PDP’s plan to rig the election as it has allegedly done in previous elections since 2019, therefore, “we, in the APC are always ready to defeat the ruling party in the state”.
He advised all APC cadres, especially officials carrying out election duties in electoral districts, polling stations (TPS), or other units, to ensure that no one takes away the party’s hard-earned votes.
Mohammed Tilde explained that the APC had fielded candidates for all 20 chairmanship seats and 323 councillor seats for the LG election in the state, and expressed confidence that the party would win all the seats.
