Governor of Hyacinth Alia from the Benue state has issued a stern warning, which states that he cannot guarantee the safety of every individual or group that visits the country without previous knowledge.

He also mandated that visits to internal refugee camps (IDP) require previous approval from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).

The governor’s warning was delivered in a statement released Monday by the Head of the Press Secretary, Teroo Kula, entitled “Notification of Unjected visits to the Benue State,” urged the planning of such visits to reconsider their own safety.

“The Governor of the State of Benue, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, wanted to tell the public that he did not expect August visitors to the state today. He is currently involved in a high profile meeting with the main state actors to discuss critical problems that affect our country.
