Zenith Bank Plc Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr Adaora Umeoji, has urged women to step forward with courage, claim their worth and lead with confidence as the bank prepares to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026.
Umeoji made the call in a statement on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, speaking ahead of the event.
Umeoji said the workshop, with the theme “Take It, Own It”, is in line with the global IWD which has the theme “Give to Gain”.
She noted that the workshop will provide women with a platform to promote purposeful action, professional growth and sustainable impact.
Umeoji said: “’Give to Gain’ speaks to the responsibility institutions have to create real opportunities, while our theme ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to boldly step forward and lead.
“At Zenith Bank, we are intentional about building environments where women can grow, thrive and shape outcomes, not only within our institution but across the communities and industries we serve.”
The bank’s IWD 2026 seminar will be held in Lagos on March 9 and is envisioned as a convergence of influence, insight and inspiration.
Over the years, the bank’s IWD initiatives have brought together women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and emerging talent for dialogue, inspiration and shared learning on gender equity, inclusion and professional development.
