Zulum inaugurates the Committee for the review of technical and professional education, others

The governor of the state of Borno, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, inaugurated three high -level strategic committees to encourage governance and state development.

The inauguration ceremony took place in the conference room of the governor’s office, the secretariat of Musa Usman, Maiduguri, with the secretary of the state government, Hon Bukar Tijani representing the governor.

He said the committees have the following terms of references; review the revitalization of cultural heritage, to improve technical and professional education and promote urban development through the systematic systematic road and the numbering of houses.

According to him, the Commission for the resuscitation and rehabilitation of museums, historical sites and heritage is chaired by prof. Abba Isa Tijjani, a famous expert and former general manager of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.

The Committee includes illustrious members such as dr. Bulama Mali Gubio, Alhaji Zannah Boguma and representatives of various cultural institutions.

The mandate of the Committee is to evaluate the conditions of the existing museums and sites, recommend rehabilitation plans and propose new museum offices in all 27 areas of the local government and seven advice from the Emirates. The Committee should present its report within six weeks.

The Committee for the review of education and technical and professional training (TVET) is led by Mal. Goni Ibrahim, the special technical consultant on professional training to the governor.

The Committee has education and training experts, including Dr. Aliyu Idris and Dr. Maryam Abdulkadir Ayeye.

The committee’s task is to evaluate the current Tvet structure and propose reforms to strengthen the development of professional skills in the state. The committee report is due in eight weeks.

While the Committee for the name of the street and the numbering of the house are chaired by prof. Usman A. Tar, Honorable Commissioner for the Ministry of Internation and Internal Security.

The reference terms of the Committee included to improve urban planning, improve navigation and preserve Borno’s cultural identity.

Others include to conduct a complete revision of the names of the existing roads and the numbers of the houses, the name or the redenomination of roads to reflect the cultural and historical identity of Borno and the update of data in Google maps, public directories and official registers.

Other members of the Committee include representatives of ministries, departments, agencies (MDA) and competent security agencies.

He observed that these committees play a vital role in supporting administrative efficiency, the improvement of response systems for emergencies and the enhancement of the infrastructure organization in the state of Borno.
