12 burnt to death, four injured in car crash in Ogun

At least 12 people were burnt to death and four others injured in a single-vehicle accident in the Ogere area of ​​the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Tuesday.

Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Mrs. Florence Okpe, confirmed the accident in a statement issued in Abeokuta.

He said the Mazda bus with registration number DDA 733 XA was involved in the accident that occurred at 15.14 WIB.

According to Okpe, the driver lost control of the bus after he made a wrong overtaking move, crashed his vehicle into the road divider, overturned and immediately caught fire.

He said: “16 people, consisting of 12 men, three women and one girl were involved in the accident.

“Four people were injured, while others were burned to death.”

FRSC officials said the injured victims were taken to Patmag Hospital in Ogere.

He added that the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Akinwunmi Fasakin, appealed to motorists to always obey traffic rules.
