12 other state-owned institutions accept student loans, NELFUND says

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund Management (NELFUND), on Wednesday confirmed that 12 state government-owned tertiary institutions have joined the student loan application pool.

Head of Media and Public Relations of the Nasir Ayitogo Foundation in his written statement, Tuesday (2/10) said that this registration was carried out after his party had previously successfully submitted and verified the completeness of the data.

The statement read: “With this latest addition, the total number of participating local government-owned higher education institutions has now increased from the previously announced 36 to 48. The student data from 121 institutions is still quite impressive.”

The fund urges all institutions that have not yet submitted their students’ data to the Student Verification Portal to do so so that their students can benefit from the scheme.

NELFUND also urges states whose data has been captured and successfully uploaded to immediately alert their students to register, thereby providing relief to students in financial distress while also providing revenue security for institutions.
