The National Assembly asked for the withdrawal of all the circulars already issued for contractual prizes in the tax year of 2025.
The resolution for the withdrawal of the circular already issued for contracts for the tax year of 2025 was taken jointly by the committees on the allocations of both the Senate and the Chamber of Representatives of Abuja.
Parliament strongly indicated that the capital component of N23.9 trillions of the entire N54.99 Budget trillion of 2025 will extend to the tax year of 2026.
The joint resolution was sequel to a previous taken by the appropriation committee to the Chamber of Representatives on Wednesday during the interactive session with the Economic Team of the Federal Government.
The president of the Senate Committee for the appropriations, Senator Solomon Adeola said that the capital component of the 2024 budget will continue until 31 December 2025.
βThe implementation of the capital component of the 2025 budget will begin as soon as possible, as authority to bear the expenses (AIE), should be issued within seven days after this session with the economic team.
“The circulars issued by the Ministry of Finance to the agencies of the Departments of the Ministries (MDA) should be withdrawn pending aie issue.”
The members of the economic team at the evaluation of 2024 and 2025 session of implementation of the financial statements with the joint committee include the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, Minister of the Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu.
Others are the general accounting of the Federation, Samsudeen Ogunjimi and the general manager of the Federation’s budget office, Tanimu Yakubu.
The two parts later entered the door of Porta Chiusa after the adoption of the resolution without any opposite opinion by any member of the economic team.
