A fourth minute strike of six times African player of the year Asisat Oshoala guided the Super Falcons to a comfortable 3-0 victory over their Tunisian counterparts while the nine times champions have obtained their challenge for a tenth continental title on the ground at Casablanca on Sunday.
Rinsela Babajide, on the left side of the field, floated the ball from a punishment kick, and how the defender Ashley Plumpre missed the contact, the Oshoala based in the United States met the ball with a header to force the ball beyond the goalkeeper Souraima Jabrani in the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in the industrial and economic capital of Morocco.
Oshoala approached the advantage in the 16th minute, but the defender Norhene Bettoure was attentive and deflected the ball while the striker was set to press the trigger from the Cross of Toni Payne.
The left shot of Deborah inhaboun in the 37th minute did not have enough power behind it, but two minutes from the addition of the first period, Babajide put enough power in his shot while he rushed beyond Chaima Alabbassi and passed Jabrani for the second evening of Nigeria.
Shortly before the break, Ashleigh Plumpre thought he had obtained the third of Nigeria from a header from Babajide’s corner kick, but his effort was prohibited.
In the second half, Plumpre, forever adventurous, upset Jabrani with an acute shot, and four minutes later, the substitute for the delivery of Esther Okoronkwo implied the connection.
Osinachi Ohale has lost close while Nigeria chased the ball into a fray from a free kick to the 62nd minute. At the other end, the veteran defender was lucky enough not to be penalized after bringing down the lively Salma Zemzem in the vital area of Nigeria.
Faithful to the character, Okoronkwo broke and fascinated, and approached enough with nine minutes left when he shot a defender and saw the ball hit in advance of his shot.
Three minutes later, he was jumping for joy when his Knockdown, from Plumptre’s Cross, found his colleague Substanto Chinwendu Ihezuo in the right place to insert the ball beyond Jabrani for the third of Nigeria.
In addition, the header of Plumptre almost became confused Jabrani, but there was still time for Zemzem of the goalkeeper’s goalkeeper Call Nnadozie of Crossbar.
The victory delivered three precious points to the Super Falcons and the momentary leadership of Group B, in front of the clash between Algeria and Botswana.
