The air and aerospace development minister, Festus Keyamo, described the new democratic alliance (ADA) as a joke that lacks political weight to disturb the party in power.
He said it is not a coalition of political forces and cannot be considered a fusion.
Keyamo made the observations in a post on his page X as he reacts to the move by the opposition leaders to record the party at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INC).

Ada is promoted by the Nigg) Nigerian Nigalition Group Nigerian and supported by key characters of the opposition, including the former vice-president Atiku Abubakar and the former governor of the State of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai.
The party recording application, dated 19 June, was addressed to the Incen president and co-founded by Akin Restketts as National President and Abdullahi Musa Elayo as a national secretary pro-Tem.
Reacting to the development, Keyamo said that the move is a failed attempt to recreate the 2013 coalition that led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said that party promoters are creating a useless clamor and trying to mislead the Nigerians.
“This is just a simple question for the recording of the parties. There is nothing like a” coalition “here, wrote Keyamo.
According to him, “it is a useless clamor that the promoters have struggled to always create. It is only a psychological war against the Nigerians and a weak attempt at mass appeal”.
He said that no recognized political party is part of the movement, adding that describing it as a coalition or merger is misleading.
“If they are thinking of recreating what APC has done in 2013, then this is nothing more than a pedestrian joke. A complete grip of that seismic political coalition that gave APC in 2013,” he said.
Ada’s effort, observed the minister, is no different from the many political associations that appear regularly with similar intentions.
“After all razzmatazz, it is reduced to the fact that a new political party is only trying to recording some Nigerians. It is a disappointing anti-Climax throughout the pump and the show before,” he added.
The APC was formed in 2013 following the merger of the Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the party of all the peoples of Nigeria (ANPP) and a faction on the flight of the Democratic Party of people (NPDP).
The alliance presented Muhammado Buhari as presidential candidate and continued to defeat the PDP in the 2015 General Elections.
