2027: Donald Duke, 2 others compete for PRP presidential ticket

Former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, has been approved by the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) for the presidential primaries scheduled for May 25.

The PRP disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Muhammad Ishaq.

According to the spokesperson, the Duke, along with Nnaoke Ufere of Abia and Yakubu Kingsley of Edo, unanimously agreed to submit their aspirations to the decision of party members during the national primaries.

He said the candidates demonstrated commitment to democratic ideals and internal party unity by agreeing to abide by the results of the exercise.

“The PRP is proud of the caliber of its candidates, whose dedication to democratic principles and commitment to teamwork have further strengthened our party,” said Ishaq.

He also reiterated his party’s readiness to hold credible, transparent and free primaries involving more than 260 candidates vying for various elective positions across the country.
