2027: Jonathan, Obi is being considered as a presidential candidate PDP – Gov Mohammed

The Governor of the State of Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, said on Thursday that former President of Goodluck Jonathan and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, were being considered as candidates for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections.

The governor spoke on the television program channel, Politics Today.

He remembered that the former president was squeezed before he fought for the 2015 presidential election, but was later cleaned by the court.

Mohammed also described Jonathan as the most famous politician in the country today.

The governor argues that Obi will be allowed to compete for the presidential ticket if he returns to PDP.

He said PDP was interested in politicians with the election value ahead of the 2027 general election.

Former President Jonathan was under pressure from several groups and individuals, especially in the north, to take another opportunity at the highest political office in the country, 10 years after he lost the re -election effort to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

On his party, Obi was a candidate for the Labor Party in the 2023 presidential election and finished third in the election.

He is a key member of the opposition coalition who adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a platform to seize the power of the Congress of All Progressive (APC) in 2027.

“But of course, (former) President Jonathan is one of the candidates we think, if he joins us and opens his mind to run. And even other people like (former) Governor Obi, because if he decides to come to a better platform where there are no obstacles, he will be given the opportunity too.

“For Obi, he’s my brother, my friend. Don’t you see him with me?

“And of course, he is also one of the most famous politicians. And of course, you see it in the coalition or there is no coalition, surely we don’t sleep, it’s just that we don’t make a sound.

“There are so many politicians. I even have a session with Governor Amaechi. I haven’t slept yet. I have to make sure I make a closing drive, you know, you know, so that people come and help.”
