Answering questions that the meeting approached the choice of the party candidate of the party for 2027, Makinde said: “We didn’t even get there.

“We have to make a party before starting to talk about presidential candidates. If we don’t have a party, everything you are trying to do will fall.

“So, our efforts are right now aimed at having a virile and united PDP of which the Nigerians will be proud, and in which they will believe again.”

By justifying the need for adequate consultations with all the interested parties of the PDP, Makinde said that the part must close the ranks and present itself as a credible alternative.

Makinde said: “We have just finished the consultative meeting of the subdivision committee in areas of the PDP for the South and nothing should prevent us from consultancy.

“Democracy concerns the minority that has a say and the majority that makes its way. This is democracy.

“So, we are democrats, the South made large -scale decisions and in the days to be led to the convention

“Even our next wider consultations will take place and we are sure that those who said that” PDP is dead “,” PDP is now a carcass “will now know that the party is very alive”.

According to him, the caliber of the people who participated in the meeting has shown that those who claim that the PDP died.

“They are all here and commit themselves to the PDP that resumes its legitimate position in Nigeria.

“So in the days to come, some of the things discussed here, you will see them,” he said.

Highlighting the importance of the parties interested in the summit, Makinde said that the meeting had the governor Douye Diri of the state of Bayelsa, the governor Peter Mbah of the state of Enugu, represented by his deputy, the governor Ademola Adeleke of the State of Osun, who previously left to solve a problem in Osogbo.

“The governor Adeleke is here, he returned to this country, I think this morning, and then went directly to Osogbo to face some governance problems, but he said, whatever we decide here, it is with us.

“The governor Diri is here, the governor Peter Mbah, who failed to do it physically, but sent the deputy governor.

“We have the president of our Foundation Council here. We also have at least 12 of the 17 members of the Zonization Committee from the South. It is one by state. So we have 12 states here.

“We have members of representatives and senators of each area of the South, the three areas. We have members of the bot of the three areas of the South. The organizers have marked about 100 %.

“The consultation means that you continue to contact, continue to involve. So, from this meeting, we will also contact, we will commit and even do more.

“We are trying to bring together all the interested parties, all the trends in the PDP in order to be able to give a credible alternative to the Nigerians in the years to come,” he said.

He said that although the advisory meeting was not something legal in the establishment of the PDP, “democracy requires inclusiveness, achieving and ensuring that all interested parties are carried forward.”

It is an indication for us who if we continue to work hard, if we continue to strive hard, if we continue to bring together our people, we will get to a point where the Nigerians will really begin to listen to us.
