23 States Ogun arrive for the National Sports Festival

No less than 23 states have arrived in the state of Ogun for the National Sports Festival (NSF) has labeled “Gateway Games” 2024.

The two -year festival will officially begin on Sunday.

The general manager, National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, disclosed on Saturday in Abokuta.

Olopade said that there were visible signs that the state would have hosted the best festival in the history of the country.

“Twenty -three states are already in the field; their nutrition and well -being are first -rate and seamlessly.

“I just talked to the leader of four states that are already praising the state.

“On a global level, if you have an event of this nature, the first thing is accommodation and nutrition,” he said.

The touches of finish were underway at the Mko Abiola stadium, Kuto, Abekuta, home to the opening ceremony.

Several cultural troops were in the main bowl of the stadium performances for the ceremony.

Some sports enthusiasts and analysts have expressed the trust that the festival would have passed the successes recorded in the last edition in the state of Delta.

Inhabitun Alabi, a sports journalist based in Abeokuta, said he believed that the sports festival would be better than the previous edition.

Alabi expressed the hope that the new talents will be discovered by the Festival.

“The event will launch more talents that will continue to represent Nigeria in national and international events. It will also create economic opportunities for the people of the State.

“The game has already left a legacy in terms of infrastructure; the Mko abiola stadium, with its new look and capacity, can now host important international events,” he said.

“We already have three events that come after this festival, and this is clearly one of the things that come with a national sports festival.

Micheal Adesanya, a sports enthusiast, expressed the trust that the festival would come out as a good event in terms of quality of athletes and the discovery of talents.

Adhesanya noticed that the festival had to promote the unit among the Nigerians.

He appealed to the organizers in order not to politicize the games, asking the authorities to ensure that adequate talents had been discovered to replace those who age.
