Thirty people feared dead and 100 injured in Borno after suicide bombers struck a wedding and funeral.

The Emir of Gwoza Local Government Area of ​​Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Timta, confirmed yesterday that several suicide attacks were perpetrated at several locations, including a wedding reception and a funeral ceremony in Gwoza town.

The coordinated incidents, which occurred in the afternoon, reportedly caused chaos as people tried to escape to safety.

Sources said: “More than 30 people were killed and over 100 sustained injuries of varying degrees, although many of the victims were evacuated to Maiduguri for medical treatment.”
