Garba Shehu rejected the claim of the influence of secret gang in the administration of Buhari

The former Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, has denied the old claim that the secret gang held an indifferent influence over the former President Muhammadu Buhari during his term of office, describing such a statement as “solely bullshit.”

Speaking in television politics Channels today on Friday, Shehu stated that the last authority always rested with Buhari, stating that the former president was not the one who received orders from the actor behind the scenes.

“This is about Cabal is nonsense,” Shehu said. “Let me tell you, Buhari is a military general, even when he became a Democrats who repented.”

Rumors about the structure of shadow power that influenced the President’s decision to follow most of the term of BUHARI’s office. In particular, in January, the former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, openly claimed that Buhari had become a “foreigner in his own government,” and that his government was controlled by a group of individuals with limited political and administrative experience.

But Shehu rejected the claims, emphasizing that while Buhari might have advisors, decision making in the end was still in his hand.

“You can have people around you and ask people to advise you, but the money stops on the table,” he said. “I can tell you that I don’t know one person who can say with 100% certainty that if they tell the buhari ‘ABC is black,’ He will automatically agree. No, he has his own thoughts.”

Shehu also pushed back the perception that the former president was alone or did not get information about national issues.

“I will say that with all the emphasis that Buhari, if it can be measured, is probably the most aware president that the country has,” Shehu said.

He added that the style of Buhari’s government, marked by a hand -off approach to the minister’s affairs, was often misinterpreted as a release.

“Buhari is not magical. He never pretended to have Nigeria. He is not a dictator,” Shehu said.

Regarding whether Buhari plays a decisive role in the 2023 general election, especially in the emergence of Bola President Ahmed Tinubu, Shehu rejected the idea as baseless.

“Someone must have seen it in their dreams, that didn’t happen,” he said. “I sat with the President of the Tinubu Soccer after his victory and he told me that ‘President Buhari allowed me to win in a free and fair election.'”
