The tension is intensifying in the area of the local government of Ngor-Okpala in the state of imo, since the people of Mbaishii has launched the alarm for what they described as a coordinated land facilitated by the government of the IMO state and presumably applied by the Nigerian military and police.
At a World Press Conference Held at the Nuj FCT Secretariat in Abuja, Leaders and Representatives from Eight Autonomous Communities Making Up The Mbaishii Bloc, Including Umucie, Umulu, Humuegiges, Umuogba Eziama, Umuocham Ntu, Umuokpo Ntu, Umuhoko, NTU, and Alatia-Amala, Decried the Forcedful occupation of over 30,000 hectares of their ancestral agricultural land.
According to the communities, the land of land is carried out for the benefit of a religious organization, the Ministry of Zion led by the evangelist Ebuka Obi. They said that since the end of 2024, their agricultural activities have been seriously interrupted by the deployment of military and police forces that prevented them from accessing their agricultural land and destroyed existing crops and economic trees.
The communities claimed that no legal acquisition of their land has never been carried out and there are no documents in support of the request for the acquisition of the state. They recalled a previous attempt in 2006 from the then state government under the head Achike Udenwa to acquire only 2,000 hectares for a Chinese village, which was stopped due to the dispute and lack of sincerity.
They mentioned past judicial victories, including judgments in cases such as/624/2006 and as/627/2006, which declared the previous attempts to acquire land in the illegal and unconstitutional NTU communities. These judgments are still standing and strengthen the legal rights of the community on earth.
The affected communities argue that their title to the land is based on the usual inheritance, which remains valid pursuant to the Nigerian constitution and the law on the use of the territory. They insist that any attempt to overwrite this title without formal revocation and adequate compensation is illegal and unconstitutional.
The people of Mbaishii asks for an immediate withdrawal of the security forces, the end of the destruction of their agricultural land and full responsibility for violations. They invited President Bola Tinubu, the head of the army staff and the police inspector to intervene and stop the current employment.

The communities of Mbaishii invited the president Bola Tinubu, the head of the army staff and the police inspector to immediately order the withdrawal of the security forces from their lands and stop what they described as “executive illegality”.
The journalists and media houses have also urged to investigate the question independently and attract international attention to what they described as “a clear abuse of power, a violation of fundamental rights and a threat to democracy”.
“It is no longer just about earth. It concerns the soul of justice, the dignity of human life and the survival of our people,” they concluded.
The government of the state of the soul and the evangelist of the Ministry of Zion of Ebuka Obi have yet to issue an official response to the accusations.
