State legislators of the South -est
Members of the National Assembly
Leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo
Dear estimated leaders,
We, the organizations of the civil society concerned (CSO) and the citizens of the South -est of Nigeria, we write to express our profound concern for the pervasive question of the representation and marginalization that negatively affects our region.
The current exclusion of the South -est -ests from government critical appointments, such as the National Population Commission Board, represents not only a political supervision but an addresses aimed at our dignity and our people’s rights.
This situation highlights a disturbing trend in which the voices of the South -est are systematically put aside in significant national discussions. This exclusion, combined with the inhales of our political leaders, has favored a growing sense of disillusionment between our population, leading to frustration that requires immediate attention.
We urgently invoke you, our representatives, to defend the interests of the South -est. It is essential to support our legitimate place in national governance and challenge the exclusion practices that undermine our collective rights. The principles of the federal character must not be authorized to erode under the weight of political machinations aimed at submitting the interests of the south -est.
Our organizations are actively contemplating the legal action as a means of considering the federal government responsible for these injustices.
However, we underline that the only legal appeal will not be sufficient. Mobilizing the electorates and the enhancement of citizens to recognize their collective power is crucial. We must ask for greater responsibility on the part of those who are in leadership and support the interests of our region.
The commitment with CSO, traditional leaders and proactive political representatives can significantly amplify our collective voice. Together, we should encourage a culture of active citizenship that requires transparency and responsibilities from elected officials. This effort of the community is vital to reshape our political panorama.
We patiently waited for a strong response from our elected representatives, but the lack of action is discouraging. We do not allow this moment to pass without decisive actions. We invite you to take our reasons seriously and to start a unitary effort for change. The correct representation of the South -est is not only fundamental to face our unique needs, but also essential to protect the political interests of our citizens.
Together, we can claim our narrative and ensure that the concerns of the South -est are priority in national discourse.
We impatiently wait for your serious response and a significant action.
Sincerely,
