President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a bid to avert a national plot by a group of Nigerians.
The group has planned to hold a nationwide protest titled: “End Bad Governance” starting August 1 to express their dissatisfaction with the economic hardship and other problems plaguing the country.
The President, the National Assembly and other concerned Nigerians have appealed to those behind the protests to drop the idea and give the government enough time to fulfill its promises to the citizens.
The Department of State Services (DSS) said on Thursday it had uncovered plans by some elements to infiltrate the planned protests and cause chaos in the country.
Governors who attended the meeting included Hope Uzodimma (Imo), AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman (Kwara), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi) and Usman Ododo (Kogi). among others.
